If your Smart Ear thermometer won't turn on, don't worry we can help. First, try new batteries. This usually does the trick. But if it doesn't don't worry, we can help. Simply follow the direction for your thermometer model below:
Smart Ear without a side button:
A failed firmware update could be the problem. This is especially likely if you have a new thermometer that was connected to the Kinsa app, but simply won't turn on again. If that's the case you can fix it right away using the Thermometer Recovery feature in the Kinsa app.
- Open your Kinsa app
- Tap the ⚙️Settings gear in the top right corner
- Tap Thermometer Recovery
- Follow the on-screen instructions
If your thermometer has a side button:
- Remove the batteries.
- Clean the battery compartment with a cotton swab, be sure to remove any dirt or debris.
- Put the batteries back in and replace the battery door.
