Setting up your Kinsa QuickCare thermometer

Setting up your new QuickCare thermometer with the Kinsa app is quick and easy. Just follow these steps:

  1. Download the latest version of the Kinsa app from here: getKinsa.app
  2. Enable Bluetooth on your phone.
  3. Launch the Kinsa app.
  4. Tap  ⚙️ Settings > ⨁ Add New Thermometer
  5. Push the button on your QuickCare thermometer to turn it on.

Within 10 seconds, you should see a prompt asking you to "Ignore" or "Connect." If you see this, tap "Connect" and go through the setup flow.

In the future, be sure to open your Kinsa app during or after temperature taking to take advantage of all of Kinsa's smart features and guidance.

 

Connection Issues

If your QuickCare doesn't connect after the following the steps above, try this to correct it:

  1. If you have an Android phone, make sure your Kinsa app has been granted location permissions. This is required by the Android operating system to connect with any Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) device, including the Kinsa QuickCare. Learn more here.
  2. Turn off QuickCare by holding down the button (if it is on)
  3. Force Quit your Kinsa app
  4. Turn Airplane mode on
  5. Turn Airplane mode off
  6. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone
  7. Open the Kinsa app
  8. Tap  ⚙️ Settings > ⨁ Add New Thermometer
  9. Push the button on your QuickCare to turn it back on.

If you'd prefer to use your Kinsa QuickCare as just a plain digital stick thermometer, without the downloading or using the Kinsa app at all, follow this guide.
