If you've taken readings with your Kinsa QuickCare thermometer and have those readings appear in your Kinsa app but now the thermometer won't turn on anymore, a failed firmware update may be the problem.
This can be fixed right away through the Kinsa app by following these steps:
- Open your Kinsa app
- Tap the ⚙️Settings gear in the top right corner
- Tap QuickCare
- Tap Thermometer Recovery
- Follow the on-screen instructions
If you don't see a Thermometer Recovery option in the Kinsa app, that rules out a failed firmware update and so the problem may be a dud battery instead. This is rare, but it does happen occasionally. In that case, all that is needed is a new battery.
The Kinsa QuickCare takes one CR 2032 coin cell battery. They're available at practically all pharmacies, most grocery stores, and of course online too. They're usually around $5 for a pack of five batteries, and you can find our direct links to the right batteries from reputable stores here: kinsa.help/QuickCareBattery
But if neither the Thermometer Recovery process nor a new battery solves the problem, please contact our Customer Happiness team so we can take care of this for you: kinsa.help/ContactUs
