If your Kinsa QuickCare thermometer will not take a reading:
- First, ensure the power button is being pressed enough. Try pressing it with a nail, or using a countertop/another firm surface to depress the button all the way. Sometimes it can be tricky to push.
- Second, try resetting your thermometer. Follow this guide to learn how: Reset Your QuickCare
If resetting the thermometer does not fix the issue, it may just need a new battery to clear up any problems.
- The Kinsa QuickCare uses one CR 2032 battery, available at all pharmacies, most grocery stores, and of course Amazon. A pack of five batteries usually sells for around $5. If you’re attempting to take your temperature but can’t because the thermometer is displaying “APP” - we recommend downloading the Kinsa app from https://getKinsa.app and following the steps in How to set up the Kinsa app.

If you’ve tried resetting your thermometer and replacing the battery but neither step worked, please tell our Customer Happiness team that you’ve already followed this troubleshooting guide and outline all the specific steps you’ve tried.
